For almost 30 years, the
Kollel has dedicated itself to the furthering and dissemination
of Torah study and thought to Jews of all ages and denominations
throughout Melbourne and worldwide.
This is achieved through
the training of Rabbis, Judges, Talmud Teachers, Educators,
Counsellors, Religious Lecturers and Torah Inspired Lay Leaders
through our accredited higher education program, the delivery of
classes, lectures and programs to the local community and
throughout Australia, and the provision of Rabbinic leadership
and counselling, various Jewish religious communal services, and
providing the financial means to allow budding scholars to
develop into the Torah leaders of tomorrow.
Approximately five hundred
participants per week attend our lectures and tutorials both at
the Kollel and at various locations under our auspices. Lessons
cover the complete spectrum of Jewish thought, including Jewish
law, holidays, Bible, philosophy, contemporary issues and
history. They are tailored to all levels of participants, from
learning to read Hebrew to advanced erudite research. Classes
begin in the early hours of the morning and continue throughout
the day and late into the night.
